One Fish Wonder 2009!!!!
The new season begins Tuesday April 7th, 2009 out of Stamp Creek Day Use Ramp on Lake Allatoona. This is a Fun tournament that we have going and I hope that common sense and moral ethics among the contestants are the main rule that we need.
We will weigh 1 live fish per person....12" min. Length. If you are unsure of the length of your fish, please ask for measurement before fish is weighed. Fish also must be alive.
Tournament hours are from 5:00pm until 9:00pm---you must be inside bouy area before 9:00PM.
Payout for the 2009 Tournament is as follows,
Weekly payout will be 80%. 20% held for Fishoff of Top 20 points anglers.
* Sidepot is $5.00.
Payout is 75% Big Fish 25% Smallest Fish. Sidepot goes to 2nd Big Fish.
2009 entry fee is $10.00 Per Person, and youths under 16 with paying adult will fish free. Due to space and our permit from the Corp. we will limit each week to 50 people (1st come basis). This years points will be 300 First and descending 5 points per place. If you fish but do not weigh in a keeper you will get 50 points.
Weighmaster will measure on a golden rule, if you bring a short fish to scales you will "O" for the night. (Losing even your 50 points). So if in doubt about your fish, remeasure before you come to the scales.
If you have any questions please call the store at 770-386-3978. We were looking for a way to involve not ony the avid tournament fisherman, but also those who want to just fish and have a good time but also be involved in a competitive adventure.
The "One FIsh Wonder" is just what the name says. You can only weight in one fish at tournament end. You catch a fish and then wonder the rest of the evening if it will be big enough. It also has a lot of value to the lake because we are not stressing the fish by carrying so many of them in live wells for an extended time. It also takes a lot of stress off the fisherman...it only takes 1 bite to win and so the playing field is very level. Every fisherman out there can win. Others are enjoying this event as they are truly fishing for the big fish. There are a few houskeeping rules. This is a U.S. Corp of Engineers ramp which means there is a fee to be paid for parking ($3.00) per night. You can save if you purchase a annual pass from the USCOE office located at the dam. Also, those parking without a trailer please use the upper end of the lot. AND please reserve the First parking space for the tournament director so weight-in can proceed quickly. Come and join the fun every Tuesday evening 5-9!! Remember One Fish Wonder Tournament is limited to 50 persons each week!!!
***Note***
We encourage pre-booking by calling the store before 3:00 pm on Tuesday to insure your spot in the tournament as the field is limited to 50. However, if you book in and do not fish you still are required to pay the $10.00 fee before you fish again. Not showing up possibly will knock someone else out of a slot that week.

NOTES FROM WEEK 06/30/09
The end of June did not bring out the fireworks nor did any of the 44 anglers this week break the three pound mark that had been the pinnacle of the month. BUT the small fish of the week was up. Russell Archer bested the field this week with a nice 2.52 lb. spot and carried home $264.00 (well maybe half after his grandson got his part). The side pot went to the 3rd. largest fish this week as the number two fish was not in the running and the $210.00 went to Wesley Kennemur with a 1.88 spot. The small fish payout of $88.00 was split between Ritchie Edwards and Bob Haas. The top 20 list is changing a lot the past few weeks so check your standing and plan your strategy for your bid to make the fish off in September. Good Fishing John
